First, a reminder that the monthly breakfast is this Saturday, June 1st. We are on our way to the Cow Café & Cookhouse in Cowichan Bay.
Now a little bit of emphasis: the Cow Café & Cookhouse in Cowichan Bay.
It looks like the Cow Café & Cookhouse started in Cowichan Lake and has now opened a second location in Cowichan Bay. It is the new location to which we are going. The address is 1765 Cowichan Bay Rd. It is on the water side towards the North end of the main drag. Breakfast is at 9:30. Make your own way there.
Saddle up and let’s ride to the Saltair Pub on Sunday, May 19.
Victoria riders meet at the Tim Hortons on Millstream at 9:30 for a 10:00 departure. That will get us to the Saltair Pub at 11:30, just before the 11:45 opening.
With the growing number of Club members up island in Duncan, Nanaimo and beyond, if someone in those areas would like to coordinate a route and ride, please contact Bob Leiitch and he will send an announcement to members in those areas. If you ride independently, remember that the Saltair Pub does not open until 11:45.
For all, please let me know if you are planning to attend. Drop Bob Leitch an email by 6 PM Friday, May 17 if you will be there so we can let the Pub know numbers. Our numbers at events are growing so we need to advise the Pub if we have more attendees than we have forecast.
The Monthly Gathering date and location has changed.
We are on our way to the Qualicum Memorial Golf Course this Sunday, May 5th. We have a reservation for 11:00 am.
Since the weather forecast is good, the plan is to ride Highway 1 on the way up and then take advantage of the back roads on the way back, exploring roads less frequented and stopping at a couple of locations like the Little Qualicum Cheese works.
For the restaurant, we need to give firm numbers by Friday, so please let me know if you are going to be there. RSVP by Thursday evening, May 2nd.
If you want to ride with others on the way up, please meet at the usual Tim Hortons at Millstream by 8:45 am and we’ll start sending packets at about 9:00 am.
Thanks to Ernie Reigle for organizing this. There is a breakfast buffet as well as à la carte. The buffet costs $11.95, including coffee and consists of:
Fruit, muffins, Greek Yogurt Eggs benny scrambled eggs bacon sausages french toast pancakes omelettes and waffles (made to order)
Spring is upon us and it’s time for our first club ride. We are off to the Brigantine Inn this Saturday. Enjoy a brisk spring ride on scenic roads to Maple Bay.
Meet at the Tim Hortons on Millstream for a 9:30 am departure on Saturday, April 20.
Note that the Brigantine Inn does not open until 11:00 am, so if you are proceeding independently, time your ride accordingly.
In order to confirm numbers, please let me know if you will be eating at the Brigantine Inn with the group. RSVP by Thursday evening, April 18th.
Up Island Riders: If you would like to meet at a location in Nanaimo and ride together to the Brigantine Inn, please let me know and I will coordinate a meeting location, time, and a route leader.
